The Centre for Transnational and Transcultural Research (CTTR) presents a Computational Literary Studies UK (CLSUK) online seminar entitled 'Analysing the Style of Kazuo Ishiguro, presented by Dr Sara Whiteley and Dr Tino Oudesluijs (University of Sheffield) and Prof Sebastian Groes (University of Wolverhampton). Friday 1st November 2024 14:00-16:00. All welcome.
Dr Sara Whiteley and Dr Tino Oudesluijs will present their project focusing on the language of Kazui Ishiguro's nine major works of prose fiction. They will talk about the tools they have used to tackle different areas of interest (in both his overall authorial style and that of individual works), the construction of their reference corpus, and some initial stylometric and corpus linguistic findings.
Professor Sebastian Groes will present computational analysis of Ishiguro's novels undertaken for the AHRC-funded project Novel Perceptions.
