UK applies for new term as Observer of CLARIN

The UK has made a formal application to renew our membership of CLARIN ERIC as an Observer for a further three years. Paul Meller from the AHRC has taken this forward and gained the approval of UKRI and the relevant government ministry, BEIS. The application for renewal requires approval by the CLARIN General Assembly, and the process to obtain this approval is now under way. We might be leaving the EU, but participation in CLARIN provides an excellent opportunity to continue and to deepen relationships with European partners.

Many thanks to Paul Meller and Andrew Prescott who have worked hard to make this happen, and thanks to everyone else who has been lobbying on our behalf!
