This online event at the Centre for Excellence in Language Teaching aims to bring together colleagues and postgraduate researchers who are involved in computational linguistics and/or language teaching. Developers of frequency and collocations lists are not always aware of how language teachers and learners use these tools. Similarly, not many language teachers are aware of how these lists are designed and how the context of the corpora they use can have an impact on language teaching. The event will start with ‘How corpora are designed’, then will move on to ‘How they are used for language pedagogical purposes’.
